Media Lab Work

Head Technician and a Coordinator @ The Global Emergent Media Lab, Concordia University, Montréal

I started working at the lab in 2016 as it was coming into shape as a physical space to enable various research clusters lead by professor Joshua Neves.

My job in the beginning was to evaluate the original equipment considerations made when the funding for the lab was sought, and to oversee the procurement and installation of the final equipment to form the lab.

Since then I have up-kept and managed the space and equipment, developed workflows for a variety of media equipment, rendered technical support to the lab's membership and been the primary technical workshop facilitator for the various activities that the lab facilitates for it's members.

The lab offers a stable of mobile video and audio equipment (cameras, sound recorders, etc.,) editing stations, machines for archiving many forms of media (35mm & 16mm film, VHS, Digital Video, etc.) and a screening/lecture/workshop space.

I also designed and implemented the "lab resources" pages of the lab's website.
